Job summary

HRI Properties in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to manage electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting tasks across our properties. You will complete work orders promptly and participate in preventive maintenance to protect building systems.

This on-site role offers the chance to join a stable team, work with external vendors, and contribute to safe, well-maintained communities.

Qualifications

  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Residential/apartment maintenance experience preferred.
  • General maintenance skills include A/C, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
  • Must be able to work on-call maintenance shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general maintenance of the exterior and interior of the property building.
  • Complete work orders promptly, including on-call requests.
  • Demonstrate the ability to resolve maintenance issues to prevent a recurrence.
  • Maintain inventory to ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available on-site.
  • Inspect and test machinery and maintenance equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment; report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and recommend corrective action.
  • Partner with external vendors, contractors, and other maintenance team members on special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the property's general condition in terms of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting. Additional functions include completing maintenance request work orders on a timely basis and participating in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms.

This position is eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain general maintenance of the exterior and interior of the property building

Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities
  • HVAC certification preferred
  • Residential/apartment maintenance experience preferred
  • General residential maintenance skills required are A/C, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, electronics, drywall installation, and finishing
  • Must be able to work on-call maintenance shifts
Physical Requirements
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand/finger movement and coordination
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds at variable distances often
  • This position involves climbing ladders at high levels for maintenance and exterior A/C repairs
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into confined, limited spaces
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, position, or move heavy objects
  • Ability to walk for long periods, including climbing flights of stairs in various weather conditions
