Summary
The Maintenance Technician ensures the general condition of property buildings, addressing electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting issues. The role completes maintenance requests promptly and participates in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms.
This position is eligible for a $500 sign‑on bonus.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain general maintenance of the exterior and interior of the property building.
- Complete work orders promptly, including on‑call requests.
- Resolve maintenance issues to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain inventory to ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available on‑site.
- Inspect and test machinery and maintenance equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment; report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and recommend corrective action.
- Partner with external vendors, contractors, and other maintenance team members on special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Residential/apartment maintenance experience preferred.
- General residential maintenance skills required: A/C, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, electronics, drywall installation, and finishing.
- Must be able to work on‑call maintenance shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Requires manual dexterity with normal hand/finger movement and coordination.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds at variable distances often.
- Position involves climbing ladders at high levels for maintenance and exterior A/C repairs.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into confined, limited spaces.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, position, or move heavy objects.
- Ability to walk for long periods, including climbing flights of stairs in various weather conditions.
