Conifer Realty LLC in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep affordable housing communities safe and well-maintained. The role offers $23.00–$28.00 per hour, full-time hours, Monday–Friday, with on-call rotation, and opportunities to contribute to resident satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, reliable transportation, and basic tech skills for work orders. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

• 2+ years of apartment/residential maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical).

• Lift 50 lbs regularly, up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and overtime flexibility.
• Basic computer/mobile-app skills for work orders & timekeeping.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning.
• Maintain grounds – landscaping, snow/ice removal, seasonal upkeep.
• Respond quickly to work orders and rotate for emergency on-call coverage (30 minute response).
• Follow safety, property, and inspection standards with precision.
• Collaborate with peers and residents, showing empathy and pride in repairs.

What You’ll Bring as a Maintenance Technician

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to cover overtime or nearby communities when needed.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training (we’ll train you!).
• Strong communication and customer-service skills

Requirements

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections.

When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities.

Employees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours.
