Job OverviewUnder the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Worker performs preventative and routine maintenance and repairs to all assigned facilities and equipment. Work scope includes, but is not limited to: painting, plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, mowing and trimming of grounds, walk and driveway snow removal.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMission and Core ValuesPromote a campus-wide philosophy that aligns with the mission and core values of the Sisters of Charity.Maintenance & Facilities OperationsRepair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.Performs routine preventive maintenance on facility equipment and vehicles, including inspections and required part replacements, following established maintenance procedures and checklists.Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctionsRecord maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work.Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.Operates Sisters of Charity motor vehicles and/or mobile equipment as required to perform job duties and complies with all organizational licensing, training, testing, safety, and Motor Vehicle policy requirements.Uses the electronic work order system to receive, document, and complete assigned work requests.Policy Procedure & ComplianceMaintain confidentiality of all resident care information (HIPAA) and respect and adhere to all resident rights.Operate all equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.On-call weekends, holidays, when scheduled or other shifts as needed.Perform fire watches as neededComplete all assigned documents and mandatory training by specified deadlines.Maintain current professional credentials and certifications.Remain current on applicable regulations and procedures by professional publications and attending applicable seminars.Professional DevelopmentAttend and participate in all in-services, training sessions, and staff meetings as required.Perform other duties as requested or required.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWork is performed in a healthcare and residential campus setting that may require exposure to varying temperatures, cleaning agents, and occasional noise.All employees must be able to perform the essential functions of their position with or without reasonable accommodation.
