Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair buildings, vehicles, grounds and equipment. You will work under the Facilities Supervisor, completing work orders, inspecting facilities, and following safety procedures.

The role requires at least 1 year in maintenance, a valid driver license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in maintenance or related field.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and a clean driving record.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, able to work independently and on a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work orders and coordinate repairs with staff.
  • Inspect buildings and facilities; initiate repairs as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and operate tools safely.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls.
  • Maintain inventory and records of equipment and supplies.
  • Grounds maintenance and fleet vehicle inspections.
  • Move furniture and office equipment as requested.
  • Attend required trainings and comply with codes.
  • Protect confidentiality of information and organizational data.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday/ 8:30am-5pm
Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for up-keeping and maintaining repairs of the agency's buildings, vehicles, grounds and equipment, and other duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.

Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
  • Complete work orders and process them. Work cooperatively with staff to schedule and complete repairs.
  • Inspect all buildings and facilities and initiate repairs as needed.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
  • Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
  • Conduct regular inventory of physical equipment and supplies and maintain accurate records. Order tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed.
  • Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and identify items needing repair or replacement.
  • Complete special projects as directed by the facilities director
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for the general maintenance and repairs of the agency’s buildings. This includes, but is not limited to, painting, light fixtures, minor plumbing and carpentry.
  • Responsible for the inspection of our fleet of vehicles, and keeping the stickers current.
  • Other than areas maintained by independent contractors, is responsible for ground maintenance.
  • Move furniture and office equipment as requested
  • Must complete all required trainings in a timely manner.
  • Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director, CEO, COO or CAO.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education
    • High School Degree or GED equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Experience

Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements for the position includes 50% local.
