Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to support commercial and industrial facility maintenance. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and equipment upkeep while working with the facilities maintenance team.

The ideal candidate has a strong multi-trade maintenance background, a hands-on ownership mindset, and can work independently or with a team to ensure uptime and safety across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4+ years of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry experience.
• Manufacturing maintenance experience or trade school training accepted.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Fork lift operator's license required.
• JLG operator's license required.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and email.
• Experience using CMMS and Building Automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and substantial repairs on facility equipment.
• Conduct shift rounds and document equipment/system performance.
• Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Replace belts, hoses, filters, fluids, wires, cables, and other consumables.
• Repair pumps, valves, steam traps, electrical devices, pneumatic solenoids, plumbing systems, sinks, piping, drains, and electrical controls.
• Follow OSHA, lockout/tagout, and all applicable safety procedures.
• Document completed work in the CMMS; support parts ordering and vendor management.
• Assist with maintenance projects and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Communicate effectively with customer staff and coworkers regarding work requests and completion status.

We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to support commercial and industrial facility maintenance. This role will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and equipment upkeep while working closely with the facilities maintenance team.

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and substantial repairs on facility equipment
• Conduct shift rounds and document equipment/system performance
• Troubleshoot and maintain:
• HVAC systems
• Plumbing systems
• Electrical systems and distribution
• Motors, starters, MCC panels/circuits & VFDs
• Fire/life safety systems
• Transformers
• Building, parking lot, emergency & exit lighting
• Replace belts, hoses, filters, fluids, wires, cables, and other consumable components
• Repair pumps, valves, steam traps, electrical devices, pneumatic solenoids, plumbing systems, sinks, piping, drains, and electrical controls
• Follow OSHA, lockout/tagout, and all applicable safety procedures
• Document completed work in the CMMS
• Support parts ordering, purchase orders, vendor management, and maintenance/project meetings
• Assist with maintenance projects and provide guidance to subcontractors
• Communicate effectively with customer staff and coworkers regarding work requests and completion status

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 4+ years of experience and/or training applying mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills
• Manufacturing maintenance experience, trade school training, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience accepted
• Valid driver's license required
• Fork truck operator's license required
• JLG operator's license required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and email
• Ability to use computerized work order/CMMS systems and maintenance-specific software, including Building Automation systems
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and follow-through skills
