Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general building upkeep across supported commercial facilities. The role requires 2–5 years of general maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities include plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical work within legal limits, and frequent use of handheld devices to manage work orders and documentation. Strong communication with customers is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2–5 years of general maintenance experience including basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Driver's license in good standing required.
• Ability to read safety policies, maintenance instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs per work orders and safety standards.
• Conduct minor plumbing tasks (toilets, urinals, valves, fixtures).
• Carry out routine painting, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance to keep facilities in good condition.
• Repair walls, floors, doors and perform touch-up painting as needed.
• Handle minor electrical tasks within state laws (fixtures, switches, outlets, ballasts).
• Complete service and asset inspections as required.
• Use tablets/phones and systems to access work orders and submit reports.
• Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase logs; obtain materials as needed.
• Maintain positive customer relationships and coordinate with internal teams.
• Attend safety training and weekly safety meetings; participate in safety programs.
• Provide cost estimates for larger projects when required.

• Experience: 2-5 years of general maintenance experience

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general building maintenance across supported commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance and repairs according to work orders, company procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
• Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including repairs to toilets, urinals, faucets, valves, automatic flush sensors, and related fixtures.
• Perform routine painting, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance to maintain facilities in like-new condition.
• Repair and maintain walls, floors, doors, and perform painting and touch-up work as needed.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance permitted under applicable state laws, including fixtures, switches, outlets, light bulbs, ballasts, and sockets.
• Complete service and asset inspections as needed.
• Use tablets, smartphones, and business systems to:
• Access and complete work orders and service notes
• Submit service reports and quality inspection documentation
• Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs
• Obtain necessary materials and supplies to complete assigned work.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and communicate effectively with customers and internal support teams.
• Complete required safety and compliance training and participate in weekly safety meetings.
• Provide estimates for larger projects and services when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, degree/certification, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• 2-5 years of general maintenance experience, including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Experience in one or more building trades such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, or specialty floor care is preferred.
• Commercial services experience highly preferred.
• Must possess applicable certifications/licenses and a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to read and understand safety policies, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
• Comfortable using handheld devices and business systems, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to complete work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to travel locally between properties on a daily basis.
