Job summary

ProAmpac in Mobile, AL seeks a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire systems. You will inspect equipment, follow safety protocols and document results.

Collaborating with maintenance, management and other departments, you will schedule work, process requests, coordinate with specialists for complex tasks and report progress.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; welding training is a plus.
  • 2–4 years' experience in machinery/equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with manufacturing facilities and general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Timely process work orders and prioritize repairs.

  • Timely process work orders/requests, prioritizing most critical repairs

  • Work closely with maintenance, management, internal customers and other departments

  • Inspect and perform preventative maintenance which may include mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire systems, interior and exterior areas. This is not a full list there may be other areas of responsibility

  • Coordinate with specialists internal and external when more complex work is needed

  • Schedules maintenance, repairs and installations to minimize disruptions when possible

  • Report on and update management and systems on projects, status, schedules, completion changes

  • All other duties as assigned


Qualifications, Education and Experience



  • High School diploma or equivalent, technical training is a plus

  • Experience 2 to 4 years’ machinery, equipment, internal/external facilities maintenance required

  • Experience with manufacturing facilities.

  • Solid working knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Outlook email and calendar.

  • Maintain confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Works in multiple areas of the facility, must follow all safety protocols for each area. Hearing protection, safety shoes, vision and other protection required when required.


This role may have some exposure to manufacturing, warehouse & officer environments. Employee may be exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing areas.

This role routinely uses standard repair and maintenance tools, ability to bend, stretch, reach, stand, sit, crawl, climb and utilize office equipment such as computers, phone.. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
