Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, facilities, and systems at our Mobile, AL site. You will handle work orders, prioritize urgent repairs, and coordinate with internal teams and outside technicians to ensure optimal operation.

The role requires 2–4 years of facilities maintenance experience, strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and proficiency with MS Office tools.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
  • 2–4 years of machinery/equipment and facilities maintenance experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing facilities and general trades (carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Outlook; ability to maintain data.
  • Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain machinery, equipment, facilities, systems, and grounds.
  • Process work orders timely; prioritize critical repairs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external specialists as needed.
  • Inspect and perform preventative maintenance across multiple systems.
  • Schedule maintenance to minimize disruption and report progress.
  • Assist with status updates and project changes; perform other duties as assigned.

  • Repair & maintain machinery, equipment, facilities, systems & grounds
  • Timely process work orders/requests, prioritizing most critical repairs
  • Work closely with maintenance, management, internal customers and other departments
  • Inspect and perform preventative maintenance which may include mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire systems, interior and exterior areas. This is not a full list; there may be other areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate with specialists internal and external when more complex work is needed
  • Schedule maintenance, repairs and installations to minimize disruptions when possible
  • Report on and update management and systems on projects, status, schedules, completion changes
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent, technical training is a plus
  • Experience 2 to 4 years’ machinery, equipment, internal/external facilities maintenance required
  • Experience with manufacturing facilities
  • Solid working knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Outlook email and calendar
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect privacy of confidential/sensitive information
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients

Work Environment

Works in multiple areas of the facility, must follow all safety protocols for each area. Hearing protection, safety shoes, vision and other protection required when required.

This role may have some exposure to manufacturing, warehouse & office environments. Employee may be exposed to non‑toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing areas.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
