Job summary

Moove NA Distribution Holdings, Inc. in Wichita, KS seeks a Maintenance Technician Supervisor to direct the maintenance department, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment, and improve reliability in line with safety and Lean goals.

You will supervise technicians, develop preventive maintenance plans, manage part inventories, train staff on safety, and coordinate with contractors for capital projects to keep production and distribution running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and maintain documentation.
  • Willingness to supervise and develop maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the maintenance department to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and installation work on equipment, machinery, and facilities including pneumatic and some hydraulic equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems and determine corrective actions.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery for repairs and testing.
  • Maintain safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Job description

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician Supervisor position is responsible for directing and overseeing the maintenance department and performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following.

The Company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time. All work is to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with Company standards. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and installation work on equipment, machinery, and facilities including pneumatic and some hydraulic equipment.
  • Cleans, prepares, paints and applies labels to tanks of various sizes and shapes and applications, including both fuel and lubricants.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment including sheet metal, pipe sections, fittings, or plumbing fixtures.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs and reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed including parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary.
  • Operate and maintain steam boiler, refrigeration systems, electrical and compressed gases, and water.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Ensure discipline, cleanliness, and safety while performing work by complying with safety rules and procedures.
  • Operate forklift safely and efficiently to lift and move product, containers, or machinery.
  • Traces history of items to determine accurate parts inventory and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies and maintain relevant inventory of applicable equipment.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Responds to and follows written and oral instructions.
  • Completes duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and suggests methods of work and productivity effectiveness.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive Preventative Maintenance program to ensure all production / distribution equipment and utiliy support infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Supervise and direct maintenance technicians to perform daily repair, fabrication or maintenance activities that support the operations in manufacturing, distribution, laboratory and general building and grounds upkeep.
  • Ensure personnel safety training and certifications are in compliance with company policies and procedures and identify any issues that could potentially lead to injury or equipment damage.
  • Support any capital projects by facilitating communication and coordination with contractors to gather competitive bids and if implemented, oversee the project to meet schedule and budget goals as defined by management.
  • Support and play an active role in identifying opportunities for improvement in all areas of the plant that interface with equipment and infrastructure following Lean Manufacturing principles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blue prints, P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATH ABILITY:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software; Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and or other Enterprise Wide computer system.
