Job summary

Established Manufacturing Employer is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in Missouri. Base hourly rate is $40.62 with $2/hr differential for 2nd shift and $2.50/hr for 3rd shift. Typical shifts are 6:30am-2:30pm, 2:30pm-10:30pm, 10:30pm-6:30am, M-F.

The candidate should have an associate degree or higher in related fields and strong PLC/electronics experience, including wiring, schematics, and panel building. OJT may apply with 5+ years controls.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in electronics, PC tech, or industrial tech with relay/PLC emphasis; 5+ years controls experience considered.
  • Ability to read circuit drawings and blueprints.
  • Plan and execute projects, build and wire control panels, program and debug.

Responsibilities

  • Install, rebuild and maintain equipment controls including PC/PLC and custom controllers.
  • Program and troubleshoot electronic control circuits for production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PC and network equipment; interpret PLC ladder logic.
  • Complete projects involving mechanical, plumbing, electrical and carpentry; BOMs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (Rev. 07/2026)

Maintenance Technician– 1st, 2nd, and 3rdshifts (The base hourly rate is $40.62 per hour, and the 2ndshift differential is $2/hour, 3rdshift differential is $2.50/hour.) (1stshift 630am-230pm M-F, 2ndshift 230pm-1030pm M-F, 3rdshift 1030pm-630am Su-Th)

Primary Requirements
  • 1. Associates degree or higher in the fields of electronic technician, PC technician or Industrial technology with an emphasis on relay, PLC, computer controls, hydraulics or mechanical systems. OJT 5+ years in controls may be considered if all additional requirements are met. (A trainee must start with an applicable degree or 4+ years controls experience).
  • 2. Ability to make and interpret circuit drawings and blue prints.
  • 3. Ability to plan and execute a project including making materials lists, building and wiring control panels, programming and debugging the operation
  • 4. Ability to write, interpret and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic programs and associated circuits
  • 5. Ability to interpret and troubleshoot PC based controls including operating systems, network interfaces, data storage and I/O.
  • 6. Ability to perform advanced diagnostics on CNC equipment including servo motors, servo valves, controller I/O and encoders
  • 7. Ability to produce high quality electronic solder joints, wiring harnesses and electrical connectors

Acceptance will be based upon results of professionally conducted interviews.

Secondary Requirements
  • 1. Ability to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment and facilities
  • 2. Ability to build or rebuild equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, controls and safety equipment
  • 3. Pass forklift operation training course
  • 4. Ability to weld and braze
Job Duties
  • 1. Install, rebuild and maintain equipment controls including PC’s, PLC’s, and custom controllers.
  • 2. Program and troubleshoot electronic control circuits for specialty equipment used to produce production components and assemblies. Typical controls could include servos, encoders, relays, light curtains, switches, proximity sensors, send & receive sensors, optical readers, power supplies discrete or variable I/O, interfacing multiple control systems and more.
  • 3. Experience in working with air, electric, hydraulic circuits, programmable controls (PLC), electrical control circuits, and ability to make and interpret circuit drawings
  • 4. Troubleshooting and repair of PC and network equipment.
  • 5. Interpret and write PLC ladder logic programs and the associated circuits
  • 6. Complete projects involving mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry; including bills of materials for each project.
  • 7. Perform all normal maintenance and repair of all plant equipment and facilities
  • 8. Ability to use all hand tools required as well as most tool room machinery
  • 9. Pass forklift operation training course; pass eye examination for forklift operation
  • 10. Track equipment repair cost
  • 11. Welding and brazing for equipment building and repair.
