Job summary

Smyth Companies LLC in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our production support team. You will repair and maintain electro‑mechanical equipment, motion controls, pumps and pneumatic/hydraulic systems to keep packaging lines running reliably and safely.

We offer a 3 days a week / 12 hour shift schedule with on‑call weekend rotation. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of industrial machinery maintenance experience, are willing to overtime, and can read electrical/mechanical

Qualifications

• 2+ years related experience in industrial machinery maintenance.
• High school education is required.
• Willingness to work off-schedule calls and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Repair machinery including electro-mechanical equipment, motion controls, motors, pneumatic systems.
• Ensure efficient operation of machinery and support equipment (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical).
• Locate issues by observing equipment in operation; troubleshoot using precision instruments.
• Assist with inventory records and replenishment of machine parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
• Work safely; follow established safety policies and promote safe practices.

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the Maintenance team as an Maintenance Technician supporting our Minneapolis facility. Every day we bring our customers' labels and packaging to life, creating a customer experience that is second to none, and enabling them to stand out over the competition. Shift Available: 3 days a week/12 hour shifts ; on call rotating weekend schedule

Key Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician include:

• Repairing machinery, including electro-mechanical equipment, motion controls, motors, pneumatic systems, pumps.
• Ensuring efficient operation of machinery and support equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.
• Locating sources of issues by observing equipment in operation; troubleshooting for issues; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Assisting with the maintenance of inventory records and replenishment of machine parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
• Working safely. Abiding by and promoting established safety policies and procedures. Identifying and following-up on unsafe conditions.

The idea candidate must demonstrate:

• Ability to think through the mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery operations and decision-making
• Capability to read electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting of the electro-mechanical systems
• Effective time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple long- and short-term projects
• Communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with a diverse group of people and personalities
• Ability to provide high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries of internal customers

Skills&Experience

• Required: High school education
• Required: 2+ years related experience; industrial machinery maintenance preferred
• Required: Must be open to off schedule calls and available for overtime as needed
• Preferred: PLC and HMI literacy
• A Plus: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and BRC/ ISO quality systems, CMMS (MVP one)
