Maintenance Technician
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role supports operational excellence by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while collaborating with production, engineering, quality, and safety teams to achieve business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, modify, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, pipe systems, electrical systems, and physical structures.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations to minimize production interruptions.
- Perform a sequence of work activities required to install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Move, position, and install large machinery and production equipment as required.
Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and facility equipment, including air compressors, HVAC units, lighting, fans, and restroom facilities.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient manufacturing environment.
Technical Support & Continuous Improvement
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering with equipment upgrades, process improvements, and maintenance-related projects.
- Apply standard maintenance systems, processes, and procedures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment performance.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance work orders, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate effectively with Engineering, Tool and Die, Production Supervisors, vendors, and cross-functional teams regarding repairs, projects, and equipment issues.
- Coordinate activities across production, quality, safety, and material handling functions to support operational goals.
- Work collaboratively with production and support teams to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements
Required Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training, trade school certification, or related education preferred.
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of industrial machinery maintenance and repair practices.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, engineering drawings, and equipment documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machine tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Fabrication, welding, and machining experience is preferred.
- Ability to work overtime, including short-notice overtime, as business needs require.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for tasks requiring dexterity, grasping, and tool operation.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, balancing, and working in various positions to access equipment.
- Occasional climbing and repositioning to support maintenance and production requirements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or move materials and equipment up to:
- 50 lbs. occasionally
- 30 lbs. frequently
- 10 lbs. continuously
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Facility conditions may not be climate-controlled.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as appropriate for assigned tasks.
