Job summary

Veolia Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose malfunctioning machinery, perform general repairs, install new equipment, and oversee preventative maintenance across assigned plant assets. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and hands-on problem solving in an industrial setting.

The position requires reading technical manuals/blueprints, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years PVC plumbing or mechanical repair experience.
• Preferred: 5+ years maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety policies and keep a clean work area.
• Perform start-up of new plant equipment and install/rearrange as needed.
• Install Schedule 80 PVC piping; cut, fit, glue as required.
• Respond to plant emergency repairs; diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Maintain preventative maintenance records and schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will perform proper diagnosis of any malfunctioning machinery, general repairs, installing new equipment and systems and preventative maintenance program on all assigned machinery as directed by supervisor

Duties & Responsibilities

• Adhering to all Environmental Health and Safety Policies, and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Maintain a tidy work environment by following good housekeeping practices in maintenance and tool storage areas, and promptly cleaning up the work area after each job.
• Perform start-up of new plant equipment
• Install new equipment and rearrange existing equipment as required.
• Install Schedule 80 PVC piping, including cutting, fitting, and gluing.
• Respond to plant emergency repairs as needed.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Maintain preventative maintenance records and perform preventative maintenance on plant
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
• Attention to detail

Preferred:

• Electrical panel board experience
• Motor Controls experience
• Positive displacements pump repair experience
• Trade school experience for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or mechanical repair is highly desired

Education & Experience
Required

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., Home School Certification, or international equivalent to High School Diploma
• Minimum of 3 years experience of PVC plumbing, OR mechanical repair and maintenance work experience

Preferred:

• At least 5 years of maintenance work experience

Working Conditions

• Travel for field repair and install if needed
• Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
• Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
