Job summary

Suez Water Technologies & Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs, and install new equipment across plant facilities. The role requires following EHS policies, clean work practices, and proactive documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in PVC plumbing, OR mechanical repair and maintenance work experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety policies and maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform start-up of new plant equipment and install/rearrange equipment as required.
• Install Schedule 80 PVC piping, including cutting, fitting, and gluing.
• Respond to plant emergency repairs as needed.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Maintain preventative maintenance records and perform preventive maintenance on plant facilities.

Job description

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will perform proper diagnosis of any malfunctioning machinery, general repairs, installing new equipment and systems, and preventative maintenance program on all assigned machinery as directed by supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Adhering to all Environmental Health and Safety Policies, and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Maintain a tidy work environment by following good housekeeping practices in maintenance and tool storage areas, and promptly cleaning up the work area after each job.
• Perform start‑up of new plant equipment.
• Install new equipment and rearrange existing equipment as required.
• Install Schedule 80 PVC piping, including cutting, fitting, and gluing.
• Respond to plant emergency repairs as needed.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Maintain preventative maintenance records and perform preventative maintenance on plant.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
• Attention to detail

Preferred

• Electrical panel board experience
• Motor controls experience
• Positive displacement pump repair experience
• Trade school experience for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or mechanical repair is highly desired

Education & Experience – Required

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., Home School Certification, or international equivalent to High School Diploma
• Minimum of 3 years experience of PVC plumbing, OR mechanical repair and maintenance work experience

Education & Experience – Preferred

• At least 5 years of maintenance work experience

Working Conditions

• Travel for field repair and install if needed
• Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
• Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
