Job summary

SIG Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Merced, CA to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems. The role supports a night shift and requires strong trade skills under supervision.

Responsibilities include repairing as per supervision, diagnosing failures, and performing fabrication and welding tasks. Candidates should have a high school diploma, with 2-year tech training or equivalent experience preferred, and at least 3 years of

• High School Diploma required.
• A 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or machine maintenance role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain machines and equipment to ensure production processes are reliable and consistent.
• Support installation and rearrangement of complex equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failure as instructed by supervision.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble complex equipment.
• Perform work in mechanical areas such as fabrication, welding, cutting, and pipe fitting as instructed by supervision.
• Occasionally perform work in other trades as instructed by supervision.
• Complete all assigned work orders in CMMS with notes at completion.
• Use typical mechanics tools and inspection gauges.
• Have basic electrical knowledge; know how to use a voltage meter.
• Have basic hydraulic usage knowledge.
• Work from drawings, verbal instructions, or sketches.
• Use shop math.
• Clean debris and lubricant from parts, area, and equipment.
• Operate production equipment to check work as required.

Summary Of Role

The Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems, involving work of varied nature requiring trade skills with direction from supervision. The Maintenance Group Leader fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.

Compensation

$24.25 per hour to $36.75 per hour

Shift

(12hrs) Night Shift 6:30pm-7:00am

Merced, CA

Key Responsibilities

You Bring These Skills, Experience & Education

• High School Diploma required.
• A 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or machine maintenance role preferred.
• Background in electro‑mechanical and pneumatic systems for automated equipment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Stainless steel welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience with equipment building or prototyping is a plus.Ability to work with and understand AC and DC voltage.
• Ability to interpret plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow both oral and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
