Job summary

Messiah Lifeways seeks a Per Diem Maintenance Technician at Messiah Home - Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems across our campus. This role offers flexible weekday scheduling and active work with plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks, supporting residents and staff.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on maintenance, can operate in a fast-paced environment, and communicates effectively with team members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Two years of maintenance, trade, mechanical, or related experience preferred (not required).
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair building systems, equipment, and appliances.
• Perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, fixtures, doors, windows, and hardware.
• Maintain and repair kitchen equipment and air handling systems.
• Install and work with plumbing materials including PVC, PEX, CPVC, and copper piping.
• Utilize electrical testing equipment to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
• Apply general maintenance and mechanical repair practices throughout the campus.
• Respond to work orders and accurately document completed work.
• Help ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Support the overall comfort, safety, and functionality of our community.
