Job summary

WireCo WorldGroup is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair machinery at the Rosenberg and Houston locations, ensuring uptime and efficiency. The role involves diagnosing hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent; 2–4 years related maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, welding and fabrication systems.
  • 1–3 years in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for team, vendors, contractors.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply technical manuals, blueprints, safety regulations, and maintenance procedures.

Job description

Overview

WireCo designs and manufactures premium ropes with a global presence. The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs machinery in the Rosenberg and Houston locations to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Install, modify, and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose issues with systems including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Utilize available resources to meet customer requirements on time and within quality and cost targets.
  • Maintain and repair plant equipment to maximize availability.
  • Ensure work conforms to specifications, is performed professionally, and that work areas are clean.
  • Ensure facilities and machines comply with OSHA requirements and safety/housekeeping practices.
  • Perform plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks as needed.
  • Follow and update maintenance procedures as required.
  • Coordinate with vendors and technicians for repair and installation of equipment.
  • Interact with vendors and outside contractors to obtain quotes and order materials within approved cost, quality, and delivery guidelines.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and maintain records of tools and equipment assigned to team members.
  • Maintain effective communication with all associates.
  • Administer the plant’s Preventive Maintenance Program, identifying necessary repairs and recommending measures to prevent breakdowns.
  • Maintain personal safety and the safety of others working around equipment.
  • Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and work scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree, trade certificate, or two to four years of related maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, welding, and fabrication systems/processes.
  • One to three years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for interactions with team members, vendors, and contractors.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification if required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical manuals, blueprints, safety regulations, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance reports, procedures, technical recommendations, and business correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Welding Technology, Control Systems, Industrial Automation Engineering, or related field.
  • Three to five years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; able to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Materials and Equipment Directly Used
  • Forklift, various hand and power tools, welders and cutting torches.
  • Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Post-offer background check required; a criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen and physical.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
