Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Martinsburg, WV, is seeking a maintenance technician to perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment, machinery, and facilities. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime and support safe, efficient operations.

You will assist with installation, setup, and calibration of equipment, support preventive maintenance, and keep maintenance records and parts inventory.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational Degree preferred.
  • Experience with maintenance in manufacturing or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of new or repaired equipment.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory.
  • Follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements during maintenance.
  • Partner with production teams to quickly resolve equipment issues and support continuous operations.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking, work orders, and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a concrete manufacturing environment and perform physical job duties, including standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational Degree Preferred
