Job summary

Qnity in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support production equipment and drive uptime across the Electronics & Industrial site.

You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and repair rotating equipment such as pumps, gear boxes, and motors, while training new staff on tools and safe work practices. Overtime may be required; shift runs 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years in industrial maintenance and safety-conscious work.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance procedures and equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations with maintenance on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues affecting manufacturing and perform repairs.
  • Install, lubricate, and repair rotating equipment (pumps, gear boxes, motors).
  • Provide safe work permits and review contractor tasks as needed.
  • Train new employees on tools, equipment, and safe work practices.
  • Identify areas for design changes and preventive maintenance improvements.
  • Interact with operators to understand issues and address concerns.

This position is for a Maintenance Technician to work in the Electronics & Industrial (E&I) Marlborough Maintenance group providing value through maintenance support throughout the site. Candidate will provide troubleshooting and repair skills on mechanical equipment for the site. Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of rotating equipment – pumps, gear boxes, motors, etc. Lubricate, clean and repair machinery, equipment, and tools. General computer skills to access documents, email, and maintenance procedures. Candidate will be expected to understand, perform, and identify safe behaviors. Ability to write clear and concise job tasks descriptions that detail the work being completed and how it will be done safely. Candidate will be able to understand task given to them, ask questions if additional clarification is needed, and identify the safest way to perform the work. At times, the candidate may be required to review other workers or contractor's tasks and provide a safe work permit to allow work to proceed. Rotating Day Shift: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. Specific Skills Successful candidate will be responsible for Support day to day operations with maintenance support on production equipment. Be able to troubleshoot issues that affect manufacturing. Be available for calls on off hours if problems arise. Willing to take responsibility for working safely themselves and any workers under their direction. Train new employees on use of tools and equipment. Display mechanical aptitude to fix and install manufacturing and facility type equipment. Identify areas of improvement including design changes and preventive maintenance improvements. Interact with production operators to understand issues and concerns and address appropriately. Ability to learn quickly and willing to expand knowledge and develop skills in related fields of the competency.

Minimum requirements: A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required. Minimum 4 years industrial maintenance experience Use of PPE – personal protective equipment General computer skills - familiar with Microsoft software tools.

Physical Requirements: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, Feeling, Repetitive Motions Work Hours: Must be able to work all scheduled times of the week. The position offers overtime hours contingent on business demand.
