Overview
Maintenance Technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance of manufacturing and facility equipment in an international environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement, coordinate, and maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) improvements, schedules and projects on a daily or scheduled basis.
- Execute job plans that include maintenance resources, materials, tools and equipment, methods, and coordination with contracted resources and other departments.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose symptoms, and perform repairs of production equipment and facility systems.
- Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
- Enter and maintain Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) data; process maintenance work requests; manage preventive and predictive maintenance scheduling.
- Research parts in CMMS, create repair orders, plan resources, and coordinate with plant personnel.
- Collaborate with operations staff to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to ensure tool and material availability.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders; create purchase requisitions as needed to execute job plans.
- Inform management and staff of potential mechanical problems and safety hazards; ensure facility and grounds safety (including snow removal).
- Comply with safety regulations; maintain clean, orderly work areas; participate in Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) initiatives; support Hazwopper Team for hazardous waste handling and disposal.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance during machine service.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED; Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends; ability to operate a skid steer, forklift, scissors lift and other similarly sized equipment.
- Preferred: Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite; experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance; ability to interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, manuals, layouts, or other visual aids.
- Basic knowledge in welding, pipe fitting, lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, carpentry, or use of tool room machines; basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and repair skills for production equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; good interpersonal skills; ability to work with others; knowledge of OSHA safety requirements; ability to use information and judgment to ensure compliance with laws and standards.
- Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance Module and CMMS software; understanding of manufacturing processes.
