Job summary

Emerald Steel Processing in Madison Heights, Michigan, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production equipment and facility systems to maximize uptime and safety.

Candidates should have experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, hydraulics/pneumatics, conveyors, cranes, forklifts, motors, gearboxes, PM/CMMS, and reading schematics.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial maintenance and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and manuals.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose failures and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.
• Inspect and replace motors, bearings, gearboxes, belts, sensors, valves, and cylinders.
• Maintain conveyors, cranes, material handling systems, and production machinery.
• Read blueprints and electrical/hydraulic diagrams; support installations and machine rebuilds.
• Assist with welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly as needed.
• Use hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment; document all repairs and PM activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and safety compliance (LOTO/OSHA).

Emerald Steel Processing is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support manufacturing operations at our Madison Heights, Michigan facility.
