Job summary

21c Museum Hotels in Louisville, KY seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep our property in top condition. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC, and document parts used.

You will coordinate with Front Desk and other departments to resolve guest issues, follow safety guidelines, and ensure inventory and work orders are managed. A high school diploma is required; basic knowledge of building systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls.
• Able to read repair manuals and instructions.
• Comfortable performing maintenance across a variety of trades.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas.
• Documents all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.
• Reports any unsafe conditions to the Chief Engineer.
• Checks with Front Desk to ensure guest issues are resolved.
• Walks building daily to identify lights out and other problems.
• Conducts preventative maintenance throughout property including guest rooms, public spaces, kitchen, restaurant, storage and office areas.
• Assists other departments within the property as needed.

Job Description

Reports To: Chief Engineer

General Purpose:

• Performs maintenance and repairs in specialized areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
• Cleans and maintains all equipment and work areas.
• Documents all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.
• Reports any unsafe conditions to the Chief Engineer.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Checks with Front Desk to make sure all guest issues have been resolved.
• Checks HVAC loop temperatures are at normal operating temperatures.
• Checks domestic hot water temperatures.
• Walks building daily looking for lights out and any obvious breakdowns, blemishes or other problems.
• Follows up on Housekeeping calls for maintenance issues.
• Fixes all broken furniture as assigned.
• Ensures that all work orders are completed.
• Checks with Chief Engineer to make sure inventory is up to par
• Changes air and water filters throughout building
• Conducts preventative maintenance throughout property including guest rooms, public spaces, kitchen, restaurant, storage, and office areas.
• Assists valet in resolving guest auto issues such as jump starts and flat tires.
• Assists Guests with internet connectivity issues.
• Assists other departments within the property as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management and building maintenance skills.
• Minimal comprehension and literacy required to read instructions, repair manuals

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
