Job summary

The Willamette Valley Company in California’s Lodi area is seeking a skilled Mill Wright/Maintenance technician to uphold safety, perform cutting and welding, and maintain gear-driven systems. The role requires rebuilding gear boxes and pumps, plus hydraulic and pneumatic familiarity.

Experience in metal fabrication, shop tools, and after-hours availability is expected; pay is based on experience and local market norms. A strong attendance record is essential.

Qualifications

  • Mill Wright experience is required.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Mechanical/fabrication skills for process improvements.
  • Pay will be based on experience.
  • Ability to work after-hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Display commitment to safety for self and coworkers.
  • Cutting and welding using torch and heat applications.
  • Knowledge of drive gears, belts, and sprockets.
  • Experience with rebuilding gear boxes, pumps, hammer mills, and airlocks.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanically driven systems.
  • Can perform advanced troubleshooting procedures in the event of a breakdown.
  • Has basics skills in metal fabrication and design solutions for process improvements.
  • Understands the use of shop tools and fabrication equipment.
  • Can be available for after-hours repair calls when needed.
  • Identifies continuous improvements in maintenance and production processes.
  • Operates as needed man lifts, forklifts, loaders, and trucks.
  • Demonstrates good judgement and common sense in decision making.
  • Arrives on time ready to begin working at assigned work center.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor.
