Job summary

ALPLA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to install equipment, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support facility maintenance to keep operations safe and efficient in a temperature-controlled plastics facility.

This second shift role (2/2/3) runs 7:30pm–7:00am, with competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and ongoing hands-on training.

Responsibilities

  • Install equipment and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Set up proprietary equipment and perform regular maintenance to prolong lifespan.
  • Adjust machinery to meet production requirements and optimize performance.
  • Use predictive maintenance methods and diagnostic tools to prevent downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair molding machines; collaborate with experts to address issues.

Job description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for equipment installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility maintenance support to ensure optimal functionality and a safe working environment.

Shift:

2nd shift - 2/2/3

7:30pm - 7:00am

Temperature controlled

Responsibilities

  • Equipment installation and preventative maintenance:
  • Set up proprietary equipment
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure optimal functionality and prolong equipment lifespan.
  • Perform adjustments to machinery as needed to enhance performance and accommodate specific production requirements.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance methodologies, such as condition monitoring and diagnostic tools, to identify potential issues before they lead to downtime or production disruptions.
  • Employ specialized technical knowledge to perform predictive maintenance tasks, including assessing equipment health.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs:
  • Diagnose technical problems and malfunctions in molding machines using a systematic approach to identify root causes accurately.
  • Collaborate with technical experts and utilize troubleshooting techniques to address routine issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Execute repairs on molding machines, both independently and with technical guidance, restoring equipment functionality promptly to minimize production interruptions.

Facility Maintenance Support:

  • Contribute to general facility maintenance tasks beyond equipment-specific responsibilities.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and organized working environment by addressing facility-related issues and supporting maintenance efforts in shared spaces.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team to ensure a well-maintained and conducive production environment for seamless operations.

Performance Metrics:

  • Timely repair of equipment
  • Maximize MP2 data input to ensure 80% labor hours recorded
  • Must participate and complete the first half of the first segment of ALPLA’s sponsored Amatrol Online Skills Training

Qualifications

  • Min High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience at ALPLA or similar industry preferred

Required Skills

Pay range: $25.00 - $35.00/hr depending on experience and shift
