Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical emphasis for 2nd or 3rd shift in Liberty, MO. Pay is $37.10 per hour; benefits begin after 30 days. Requires 2-3 years in electro-automation installation and troubleshooting, plus PLC and drive experience.

Applicants should read schematics, work with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and have welding basics. Pass pre-employment checks; military/technical training is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years electro automation system installation and troubleshooting experience.
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, and controls.
• Understands hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to install and set up AC/DC drives.
• PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of encoders and sensors.
• Familiar with power transmission equipment and bearings.
• Basic welding skills.
• Able to install and troubleshoot 3 phase motor control circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret limit switches and sensors.

This position is considered a Maintenance Technician Position with a strong electrical mechanical emphasis.

Shift: Must be flexible to work either 2nd Shift: 3pm-11pm; or 3rd Shift: Sun: 11pm -7am

Pay: $37.10 Hourly

• Benefits available upon 1st day of the month after 30 days of employment (medical/dental/vision/401K and more)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include

• 2-3 year of electro automation system installation and troubleshooting experience.
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
• Understands hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to install and set up both A/C and D/C drives.
• PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.
• Able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of encoders and various types of sensors.
• Working knowledge of power transmission equipment, bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Basic welding skills.
• Familiar with pumps; both air and electrical.
• Able to install and troubleshoot 3 phase motor control circuits.
• Knowledge of various types of sensors and limit switches.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Qualifications

Must be computer literate with a willingness to be an effective contributor to the plant's goal of producing optimum quality and outstanding service levels to our customers through effective teamwork.

Education / Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Military training or technical school preferred
• 5 years in troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems down to component level
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work flexible hours / non-traditional schedules and overtime as required
• Corrugated industry background is a plus, but not required
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check
