Job summary

Wallstreet Sand Co. in West Texas is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support Millwright Mechanics in keeping heavy equipment and plant systems running safely and efficiently.

You'll perform routine maintenance, assist with repairs on haul trucks, dozers, and conveyors, and help maintain clean, organized work areas while following MSHA safety guidelines and LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Prior experience in an industrial environment (mining, quarrying, cement plants, heavy manufacturing, or construction) is strongly preferred.
• Certifications: MSHA Part 46 or Part 48 certification is highly desirable (training will be provided to the right candidate).
• Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; mechanical aptitude; ability to follow multi-step safety lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 lbs; outdoor conditions; climb ladders/scaffolding; stand/walk on uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Support: Assisting with repairs on heavy equipment (haul trucks, dozers, conveyors).
• Housekeeping: Cleaning floors, preventing spills, maintaining clean work areas.
• Basic Maintenance: Greasing, changing cutting edges, painting bollards, pre-shift inspections.
• Safety Compliance: Completing orientations, adhering to MSHA regulations, reporting hazards.

We are currently looking for reliable and safety-focused Maintenance Technician to support Millwright Mechanics in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all heavy machinery and structural components within our sand mine and processing plant facility. This position involves a mix of rigorous physical labor, preventative maintenance assistance, and heavy industrial housekeeping to minimize facility downtime and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Support: Assisting Millwright Mechanics with repairs on heavy equipment (haul trucks, dozers, conveyors) and transporting tools/parts.
• Housekeeping: Sweeping shop floors, cleaning spillage, washing mobile equipment, and maintaining clean work areas to comply with safety standards.
• Basic Maintenance: Performing routine tasks such as greasing, changing cutting edges, painting bollards, and conducting pre-shift inspections.
• Safety Compliance: Completing required safety orientations, adhering to MSHA regulations, and reporting hazards or defective materials immediately.

Requirements

• Prior experience in an industrial environment (mining, quarrying, cement plants, heavy manufacturing, or construction) is strongly preferred.
• Certifications: Current MSHA Part 46 or Part 48 certification is highly desirable (training will be provided to the right candidate).
• Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; mechanical aptitude; ability to follow multi-step safety lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor conditions, lift up to 50 lbs regularly, climb ladders/scaffolding, and stand or walk for long periods on uneven surfaces.
