Job summary

Independence TX LLC is seeking experienced Maintenance and Millwright Technicians for a frac sand plant in Strasburg, OH. You will build, commission, and maintain heavy equipment, welding, and electrical tasks to keep production running.

Role requires 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Salary is hourly with company-paid benefits and production bonus eligibility. Experience in sand or mining plants is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant maintenance at sand, aggregate, mining, cement, asphalt, concrete, or similar heavy industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of arc welding and cutting torch use.
• Experience with conveyor belts, gearboxes, bearings, structural welding, baghouses, elevators, silos, and pumps.
• Strong troubleshooting, rigging, lifting, and mechanical alignment skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Construct and assemble new sand plants and support maintenance through commissioning.
• Perform welding, fabrication, mechanical repairs, electrical work, plumbing, hydraulic repairs, and boiler maintenance.
• Maintain and repair feed, conveying, scrubber, shaker, and classifying systems.
• Maintain discharge hopper, weigh, central mixer, drive, and structural systems.
• Maintain water, air, electrical systems, crushers, hydraulic systems, and recycling systems.
• Perform bearing, gearbox, and electric motor changes.
• Perform belt splicing and repair with Flexco and Super Screw.
• Inspect equipment on schedule and file detailed inspection/maintenance reports.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with safety policies and mining regulations.

We are hiring experienced Maintenance and Millwright Technicians to help build, commission, and maintain our sand processing plant. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for welders and mechanics who have worked in sand, aggregate, mining, cement, asphalt, concrete, or other heavy industrial plants and know what it takes to keep production equipment running.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Construct and assemble new sand plants, and support maintenance and repair through commissioning.
• Perform welding, fabrication, mechanical repairs, electrical work, plumbing, hydraulic repairs, boiler maintenance, and air system servicing.
• Maintain and repair feed systems, conveying systems, scrubber systems, shaker systems, and classifying systems.
• Maintain discharge hopper systems, weigh systems, central mixer systems, drive systems, and structural systems.
• Maintain water, air, and electrical systems, crushers, hydraulic systems, and recycling systems.
• Perform bearing, gearbox, and electric motor changes.
• Perform Flexco and Super Screw conveyor belt splicing and repair.
• Perform slurry pump swaps and rebuilds, and poly pipe fusing.
• Inspect equipment on the Company's prescribed schedule and submit detailed inspection and maintenance reports.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and comply with all company safety policies and federal and state mining regulations.

SCHEDULE

• 4 days on, 4 days off
• 12-hour shifts, days or nights
• Weekends and holidays as scheduled

PAY & BENEFITS

• $34 - $44 per hour, based on experience

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Plant maintenance experience in a sand, aggregate, mining, cement, asphalt, concrete, or other heavy industrial processing facility.
• Knowledge of arc welding and cutting torch use.
• Experience with conveyor belt repair, gearboxes, bearings, structural welding, baghouses, elevators, silos, and pumps.
• Strong troubleshooting, rigging, lifting, and mechanical alignment skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Availability for 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of welding or mechanical experience.
• Frac sand plant experience.
• Hands-on experience with bearing, gearbox, and motor changes.
• Flexco and Super Screw belt splicing experience.
• Slurry pump swaps and rebuilds, and poly pipe fusing.
• Experience operating skid steers, telehandlers, and track hoe or backhoe equipment.
• Vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is performed indoors and outdoors in an active industrial plant environment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Comfortable working at heights and in hot or cold environments.
