Maintenance Technician (Property Maintenance & Repairs)

Location: Jefferson City, MO

Pay: $19–$24 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

Insight Contracting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support residential and commercial properties in Jefferson City. This position is responsible for completing maintenance requests, diagnosing repair issues, performing preventative maintenance, and helping keep our properties safe and well maintained.

The ideal candidate has experience in two or more skilled trades—including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, or appliance repair—and is comfortable working independently while delivering quality service to residents and property owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete maintenance and repair work involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, appliances, and general building systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests by troubleshooting issues over the phone and in person and completing repairs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work using the company's service management software.
• Communicate with residents, property managers, and team members regarding repair status, scheduling, and maintenance needs.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies, and assist with purchasing materials as needed.
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage for after-hours maintenance emergencies, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal and ice mitigation during winter weather.
• Follow company safety policies and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing maintenance work.
• Perform other maintenance duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in at least two of the following areas: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, appliance repair, or a related skilled trade.
• Working knowledge of general building maintenance, repair techniques, and construction safety practices.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and common maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
• Valid driver's license with a corporate-insurable driving record.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Regular lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 80 pounds is required.
