Job summary

Phat Management Group in Utah is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Property Maintenance Team. You will handle maintenance, repairs, painting, remodeling, and upgrades on our residential and commercial properties.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also coordinating with property managers, tenants, and vendors to keep properties in top condition.

Qualifications

  • Two years in property maintenance, construction, remodeling, or related field.
  • Knowledge of common maintenance tools, equipment, and repair methods.
  • Able to perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and flooring repairs.
  • Able to troubleshoot problems with limited supervision.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability and attention to detail.
  • Good time-management and organizational skills.
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds; safe use of ladders.
  • Smartphone for work orders and communication.
  • Pass background check due to access to properties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs at residential and commercial properties.
  • Prepare vacant apartments and rental units for new tenants, inspections, repairs, painting, cleaning, and walkthroughs.
  • Diagnose maintenance problems and determine repair steps.
  • Complete basic plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, drains, disposals, leaks).
  • Complete basic electrical repairs (switches, outlets, fixtures).
  • Carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, doors, cabinets, and hardware repairs.
  • Assist remodeling projects and property upgrades.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine property inspections.
  • Respond to work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain records of work, materials, and follow-up needs.
  • Keep tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean and safe.
  • Work independently or with the team; communicate with tenants, managers, and vendors.
  • Follow company procedures and safety requirements.

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hardworking Maintenance Technician to join our Property Maintenance Team. Our company manages a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties throughout Utah, offering the opportunity to work on a wide variety of maintenance, repair, renovation, and property improvement projects.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, takes pride in producing quality work, and can identify and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision. This position requires someone who can work independently while also collaborating effectively with other maintenance technicians, property managers, tenants, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs at residential and commercial properties

  • Diagnose maintenance problems and determine the appropriate repair or next step
  • Complete basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, disposals, and minor leaks
  • Complete basic electrical repairs, including switches, outlets, light fixtures, and troubleshooting
  • Perform carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, door, cabinet, and hardware repairs
  • Assist with remodeling projects, renovations, and property upgrades
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine property inspections
  • Respond to assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and follow-up needs
  • Keep tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Work independently or alongside other maintenance team members to complete projects efficiently
  • Communicate professionally with tenants, property managers, vendors, and other team members
  • Follow company procedures and applicable safety requirements

Additional Information
  • Reliable personal transportation is required for travel between properties
  • A gas or mileage allowance will be provided for approved business travel
  • A smartphone is required to receive work orders, document completed work, and communicate with the team
  • Employees should have common hand tools appropriate for general maintenance work
  • Specialty tools and equipment will be provided by the company
  • A tool allowance or stipend may be available based on experience and position requirements
  • Work will be performed at multiple residential and commercial properties
