Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Maintenance Tech for a premier Birmingham, AL manufacturing client. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

You will document work in CMMS, follow LOTO and OSHA safety protocols, and assist with setup and changeovers. Requires 2+ years in industrial maintenance and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years industrial maintenance experience (must-have).
• Able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems (must-have).
• Able to read blueprints and schematics and use hand/power tools (must-have).
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varying temperatures (must-have).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and changeovers for production runs.
• Document work performed, hours, and parts in CMMS.
• Follow OSHA and company safety protocols, including LOTO; keep work area clean.

Compensation:

$25 per hour

What’s a typical day as Maintenance Tech? You’ll be:

• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment such as extruders, conveyors, balers, and granulators.

• Performing scheduled preventative maintenance according to established procedures to minimize downtime and prevent equipment failure.

• Assisting with equipment setup, calibration, and changeovers for various production runs.

• Documenting work performed, hours, and parts used through Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

• Adhering strictly to OSHA and company safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and keeping a clean, safe work area.

• Identifying, ordering, and replacing defective parts such as belts, bearings, and motors.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have at least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within plastics or a manufacturing environment (must-have).

• Are proficient in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, as well as reading blueprints and schematics, and using hand/power tools (must-have).

• Can lift up to 50 lbs and have the ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures (must-have).

• Are flexible and available to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and be on-call for emergencies (must-have).
