Job summary

Marcella Post Acute in Hampton, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our 180-bed facility safe and well‑maintained. The role covers painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and HVAC, with a focus on reliability and resident comfort.

You will use basic computer tools to document work orders, support preventative maintenance, and respond quickly to requests while upholding safety standards. This full‑time position offers a Wednesday-Sunday schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of general maintenance experience including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC.
• HVAC, plumbing and electrical experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of building equipment, systems, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work across painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and other facility systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building equipment and systems for safe operation.
• Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend system longevity.
• Maintain knowledge of building systems, equipment, and applicable building codes and regulations.
• Utilize basic computer systems (Word, Excel, Internet) to document work orders and track activities.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly while prioritizing resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work complies with safety procedures and facility policies.
