Job summary

Refresco in Greer, SC is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for the Night Shift (2-2-3 schedule: 5:45pm–6:15am). You will maintain production equipment, adhere to GMPs, and ensure food safety standards are met across all lines.

You will troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime. A forklift certification is required, and a $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GMPs and food safety requirements.
• Must read and understand machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
• Ability to work without supervision and make good decisions.
• Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair maintenance and line changes.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GMPs, PPE, and safety policies in warehouse/production areas.
• Ensure food quality and safety standards per SQF or corporate guidelines.
• Report FSMS issues to responsible management for corrective action.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repair maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain production support equipment (glycol, RO, compressed air, lubrication, chemical systems).
• Document and retrieve final approvals on work orders including part numbers for inventory.
• Communicate maintenance and production information across shifts.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Collaborate with production during downtime to resolve issues.

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
• Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
• Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, &pneumatic).
• Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
• Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
• Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
• Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
• Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.
