Job summary

PMI Entertainment Group is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep our venues safe and operational. You will perform routine repairs on building systems, carry out preventative maintenance, and coordinate with vendors for specialized tasks. Strong attention to safety and record-keeping is essential.

The role requires ability to lift 50 lbs, a valid driver’s license, and forklift certification after hire. Hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced event environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor and routine maintenance repairs on building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting).
  • Participate in preventative maintenance and safety training.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and coordinate with outside vendors when needed.
  • Maintain maintenance records and energy-conservation practices.
  • Assist with snow removal and security-related tasks as required.

Job description

Department: FacilitiesReports to: Senior Director of Facilities & OperationsSupervises Others: NoDOL Status: Full-TimeExemption Status: Hourly; non-exemptGeneral Summary:Responsible for maintaining buildings operated by PMI Entertainment Group. Responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance. All work is to be done while following HAZMAT, EPA and OSHA safety rules and regulations.Job Functions:Demonstrates and embodies the PMI Entertainment Group Culture and Customer Service values.Performs minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary.Implements preventative maintenance measures.Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies.Responds quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate parties, and follow safety protocol.Works with outside vendors for specialized construction or maintenance tasks.Responsible for following, observing, and participating in all company related safety programs, procedures, and training as well as reporting potentially unsafe procedures.Ensures all systems are following OSHA regulations, building and Fire and Safety Inspector approved codes.Maintains appropriate maintenance and inspection records.Follows all company direct guidelines on energy conservation and practices conserving energy with all business practices at PMI.Communicates maintenance and other problem areas to the Senior Director of Facilities & Operations.Performs building security functions.Documents all safety and security issues and reports them to supervisor.Maintains knowledge of current trends and new developments in the industry by reading appropriate literature and attending related seminars.Performs necessary tasks to maintain and upkeep the facility and existing equipment.Snow removal as directed by Facilities.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Knowledge of maintenance at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school.Approximately 2 to 3 years of related work experience necessary to gain a full understanding of electrical, heating, air conditioning, plumbing and boiler system repairs and maintenance.Analytical skills are necessary to analyze all equipment, interpret gauges, consult technical manuals, and read blueprints and electrical schematics.Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of company personnel on maintenance issues.Proficient computer skills are necessary to communicate with outside vendors on maintenance issues.Full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity to operate cleaning and lawn equipment.Eye-hand coordination to operate equipment such as a truck or forklift.Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.Requires vision correctable to 20/20 and hearing within normal range.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Must have a valid driver’s license.Forklift certification required after hire.Due to the nature of the event business, hours of employment will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.Other Expectations:Regularly exposed to temperature extremes, noise, and moisture/dampness when performing this job. Includes working both indoors and outdoors.Must be able to perform jobs in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment while observing all safety rules, in public view and near other people.May be required to operate drill press, skill and other table saws, hand tools, forklifts, riding floor scrubbers, Company owned trucks and trailer, utility cart, Casco carts, flat carts, portable concession carts, mobile concession vehicle, hand carts, scissor lift, pallet jacks, custodial maid carts, chair racks, and equipment transport/storage carts.Must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment such as a fax, calculator, copy machine and telephone.Must have adequate health and physical condition to handle heavy manual tasks.Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity to operate hand tools, and eye-hand coordination to operate machinery.It requires standing, climbing, bending, and walking for extensive periods of time.Frequently handles and lifts, carries, or pulls items weighing up to 100 pounds.Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.Requires vision correctable to 20/20 and hearing within normal range.Must be able to distinguish and identify colors.It requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and standard office equipment.Must wear required safety shoes/protective footwear during work hours.Must possess the ability to read and follow written and oral directions.Must be able to plan and work well on his/her own.Must be able to perform simple arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Must have the ability to give, receive and analyze information.Must understand people and be able to effectively communicate with them.Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials, and articulate goals and action plans.PMI Entertainment Group is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer
