Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianDepartment: EngineeringReports To: Maintenance SupervisorFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSUMMARYPerforms preventive maintenance activities. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems and certain types of tooling in an industrial environment by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Performs other related duties as assigned.Manage and maintain preventive maintenance program to existing standards to ensure compliance.Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery, equipment and certain tooling.Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary.Record repairs and maintenance performed.QUALITY STANDARDSMust be able to understand and perform to quality standards, methods, usage of inspection devices and reporting as required.Must understand and complete labor or time sheets accurately.SAFETYTo maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards, i.e.: Proper use of personal protective equipment and proper use of safety devices, such as lockout, as required.
