Job Description

Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading building envelope solution supplier that effectively drives energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician in our Garland, TX Plant.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building are fully operational.

Starting Pay and Hours

• Starting Pay: $31.98, could increase based on experience
• Hours: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, must be able to stay until 6:00 pm if needed

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on equipment and support production needs
• Evaluate equipment operation, address malfunctions, and suggest improvements
• Participate in planning activities and manage plant utilities such as chiller, steam boiler, thermal oil heaters, air compressors, security, and fire systems
• Complete work orders, capture, and communicate data
• Maintain machinery like mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, controls, and pumps
• Troubleshoot and repair production and facilities equipment failures
• Develop electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills
• Repair or replace control devices (switches, sensors, contactors, etc.)
• Operate power tools and metalworking equipment
• Assist with fabrication and modifications of equipment
• Follow safety and departmental policies and standards
• Execute projects as directed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read industrial documents and electrical drawings
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Rebuild industrial machinery (motors, compressors, pumps, hydraulics)
• Proficient with hand tools and welding
• Knowledge of PLCs and electrical systems (24 VDC – 480 VAC)
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Understanding of OSHA and safety protocols
• Ability to operate mobile equipment safely

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED; technical school preferred
• Experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance
• Technical military experience considered

Working Conditions

• Work occurs inside a manufacturing facility
• Exposure to temperature variations, dust, chemicals, noise, and mechanical parts
• Typically 40 hours/week with overtime as needed
• Fast-paced environment
