Job summary

Superior Essex in Franklin, Indiana, is seeking a maintenance technician to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production equipment. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, weld or fabricate as needed, read schematics, and document work completed for uptime and reliability.

Must be able to work 12-hour staggered shifts. The role requires strong safety practices, including LOTO and PPE, and the ability to train and guide new staff while supporting upgrades

Qualifications

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
• Perform basic fabrication and welding as needed.
• Electrical troubleshooting of motors, drives, sensors and control systems.
• Document maintenance activities accurately.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment with minimal supervision.

• Conduct electrical troubleshooting on motors, drives, sensors, and basic control systems.

• Support production uptime by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, improvements, and minor projects.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to new employees.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and proper use of PPE.
• Accurately document maintenance activities and completed work.
• Other duties as assigned
