Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on plating lines, tanks, rectifiers, ventilation systems and other equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues under the Maintenance Manager's direction.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
  • Perform general facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, and building system repairs.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and maintain maintenance logs.

The JobSquad Solutions Team is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to work at a company located in the Fort Wayne, IN area!

Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: 1st shift $19-$25 p/hr DOE
Job Description:
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on plating lines, tanks, rectifiers, ventilation systems, and other plant equipment per the maintenance schedule.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and basic process-control equipment issues under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production floor maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
  • Perform general facility maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, and building system repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment as directed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs for completed work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
Qualifications Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical trades preferred.
  • 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred; experience in a plating, metal finishing, or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • On-the-job training will be provided for plating-specific equipment and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic to intermediate mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
  • Basic understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and good recordkeeping habits for completed work orders.
  • Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and process chemicals.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with the Maintenance Manager and other department staff.
Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, stand, kneel, and climb for extended periods while performing maintenance work; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including in areas with chemical processing equipment; occasional exposure to confined spaces, heights, and industrial noise.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily on the production floor and in mechanical/equipment areas throughout the facility. Exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, and noise is expected; appropriate PPE and safety protocols must be followed at all times.
