Job summary

Colonial Country Club in Fort Myers, FL, is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to join our hospitality-focused property team. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support operations to ensure facilities run smoothly for members and guests.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, plus the ability to read manuals and work safely with tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and technical documentation.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, climb and work in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related issues.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential problems before failures.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory.
• Follow safety policies and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Assist with installation and relocation of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility-related issues as needed.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential problems before they lead to breakdowns.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Replace or repair defective components, parts, wiring, motors, pumps, and other equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
• Assist with installation, relocation, and modification of equipment and facility systems.
• Maintain an inventory of commonly used tools, parts, and maintenance supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous maintenance, industrial, facilities, or mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and work in various physical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school, trade certification, or maintenance-related training.
• Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical certifications.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, apartment, commercial, or industrial environment.

Schedule

• Full-time position. Schedule may include weekends, overtime, on-call shifts, or emergency response depending on business needs.
