The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving facilities, equipment, grounds and infrastructure across Borealis Basecamp. This role supports guest accommodations, staff housing, grounds/roads/pathways, and operational buildings to ensure a safe, functional, and high‑quality environment.
Success in this role requires strong problem‑solving skills, exercising good judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as a team in a dynamic and often extreme environment.
All team members at Borealis Basecamp are expected to maintain a team‑first mindset, assist across departments when needed, and interact professionally with guests and staff.
End‑of‑Season Bonus
A $1.50 per hour bonus is paid for every hour worked throughout the season to employees who complete the full season. Employees who leave prior to April 12 are not eligible for this bonus.
Employee Housing
On‑site housing is available for $10.50 per day. Rooms are double or triple occupancy. Amenities include shared common areas with TV, Wi‑Fi, dining space, and an exercise area. Housing also includes private bathrooms, laundry facilities, staff‑prepared lunch and dinner, and a self‑serve continental breakfast (oatmeal, cereal, fruit, etc.).
While this is a generalist Maintenance Technician role, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience in structural carpentry. This includes work such as building stabilization, jacking and leveling structures, evaluating and repairing foundations or support systems, and performing structural repairs in challenging environments, including structures impacted by differential settlement, frost heave, or shifting ground conditions.
