Mutual Housing Management in Sacramento, CA is hiring a Maintenance Technician at Greenway & Glen Ellen. This full-time role supports affordable housing initiatives by completing janitorial tasks, preventive maintenance, repairs, and apartment turnovers.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner; cleans up after completion.
• Performs repairs on the property: painting, basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical; tools provided by MHM.
• Cleans apartments during turnover as directed.
• Maintains grounds and common areas, including lawns, shrubbery, parking, and trash pickup.
• Provides on-call maintenance service and responds to emergencies as required.
• Sets up conference room and community space as needed.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Advises Property Manager on overall condition of the property.
• Keeps informed of scheduling and progress of work orders and improvements.
• Monitors maintenance budget and advises supervisor on budget concerns.
• Assists in monitoring site vendors for landscaping and maintenance.
• Respects resident confidentiality.

Position: Maintenance Technician - Greenway & Glen Ellen

Location: Sacramento, CA 95824

Hours: Full Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Compensation: $23.52-25.53 per hour, depending on experience. 2 Bedroom onsite housing is included as part of the compensation package and requires residency in the community.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician completes janitorial tasks, preventative maintenance, repairs, and apartment turnovers. As a part of the site team, this position is responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard-free environment.

Responsibilities:

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Cleans up after work is complete.
• Performs repairs on the property, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical. MHM provides all tools needed for this position.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.
• Maintain grounds and common areas, including lawns and flowerbeds, shrubbery, parking areas, and trash pickup.
• Provides on-call maintenance service, as directed. Responds to emergencies, as required.
• Sets up conference room and community space, as needed.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Advises Property Manager on the overall condition of the property.
• Keeps Property Manager and residents informed of scheduling and progress of maintenance work orders and scheduled physical improvements under tech’s purview.
• Monitors maintenance budget and recommend revisions to budgets and advise supervisor when there are budget concerns.
• Assist in monitoring the performance of site vendors for landscape maintenance and other maintenance issues.
• Respect the confidentiality of resident information.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years in skilled apartment maintenance work required.
• Take directions from the supervisor.
• Coach-ability: Being receptive to feedback, willing to learn, embracing continuous improvement, accepting accountability when appropriate.
• Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions in the English language.

• Flexible to change work schedules.

• Wear a Mutual Housing Management uniform at all times when on duty.
• Learn how to input maintenance work orders and other information into computer programs.
