ProStaff Workforce Solutions

is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for our client in East Rutherford, NJ.

Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: DoE
Shift: 1st shift (6 am-2:30 pm)

Must be available to cover 2nd or 3rd shift when needed, such as during employee vacations

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform corrective and preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and minimize downtime. Respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot, and correct equipment problems. Inform the Team Leader of additional resource needs. Conduct daily inspections, secure/unsecure the plant as needed, and complete all required paperwork. Perform additional tasks as necessary to achieve goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance.
2. Ensure adherence to Food Safety and Quality Culture plans as directed by the Operation Manager.
3. Respond to maintenance requests promptly.
4. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or instrumental issues and repair accordingly, including adjustments, parts replacement, lubrication, teardown, and rebuilding.
5. Complete daily inspections and paperwork.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned.
7. Must have personal toolbox and tools.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum two years’ experience as Maintenance Mechanic/Technician in an industrial environment
• Ability to troubleshoot using hand tools; experience with welders, torches, meters, and various hand and power tools is a plus. Familiarity with blueprint reading, shop math, and mechanical/electrical systems.
• Availability to cover 2nd or 3rd shift when needed.
• Must have personal toolbox & tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Indoor and outdoor conditions, noise, vibration, hazards including moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, scaffolding, high places, heat, cold, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, gases, and poor ventilation.
