Job summary

Aegis Manufacturing & Engineering is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our heat-treating facility in Connecticut. The role focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance of heavy industrial equipment, with emphasis on hydraulics, welding, and electrical/pneumatic systems.

Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years in heavy manufacturing, the ability to read schematics and maintenance manuals, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing or heat treating environment.
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, mechanical systems, and welding/fabrication.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and industrial safety protocols.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work in high-temperature environments, and operate industrial tools/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and heat-treating equipment.
• Diagnose and repair issues involving hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, and mechanical components.
• Conduct welding and light fabrication to maintain and modify equipment as needed.
• Maintain furnaces, quench tanks, cooling systems, and other heat treating machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

This role requires hands-on experience with heavy industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, proactive in preventative maintenance, and able to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment and systems.
