BEPC is searching for an experienced Maintenance Technician.

Position: Maintenance Technician

Hours: 40 hours a week

Job Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking an energetic, experienced full-time Maintenance Technician! The ideal candidate will share our core values, provide exceptional quality work as a member of our StatLab family.

This position is responsible for maintaining and analyzing our existing custom production machinery for areas of improvement, designing necessary custom parts for the machinery, and working with the Production Department.

Duties and Responsibilities (essential duties are italicized)

1. Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled, following the proper lockout/tagout procedures.

2. Performs corrective or reactive maintenance when a line is down.

3. Assists with changeovers of the machines as scheduled to accommodate the production schedule.

4. Adjusts the machines as necessary to maintain productivity on the machines.

5. Leads and supports continuous improvement projects.

6. Supports new employees on the proper training of using, troubleshooting, and maintaining the machinery.

7. Keep the spare parts and maintenance work bench, and tool carts in order, clean, and safe.

8. Support the safety committee to ensure all the guidelines and regulations are being followed

9. Responsible for machine safety and proper operation.

10. Help during the startup and shutdown procedures in production

The duties described above are not inclusive. Additional duties may be permanently assigned or required from time to time due to the need to respond to customer needs and remain competitive in the marketplace.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least 3 years’ experience in a production environment repairing and maintaining custom machinery.

• Excellent understanding of predictive and preventative maintenance processes.

• Mechanical skills needed to perform maintenance and must have proven experience and ability in mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance troubleshooting techniques.

• Able to demonstrate working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles/concepts.

• Able to read/comprehend instructions given through electronic/mechanical instruction books, including electric, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.

• Familiarity with implementing or maintaining equipment and facilities based on ISO9001 or 13485 standards.

• Fluently speak, read, and write English.

• Skilled in time management and multi-tasking.

• Demonstrated customer problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Ability to meet physical demands of the job, which include, but are not limited to: walking; bending; pushing; pulling; sitting for extended periods of time, and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 45 pounds.

• Position spends 100% of the time in the production area.

• Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.

• Must be able to work on time on a regular basis during regular business hours. Must be available for evening/weekend work as needed.

• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to production equipment at various times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
