Job summary

American Packaging Corporation (APC) is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to join our DeForest, WI facility operating on a 7pm-7am schedule. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment, applying safety protocols and continuous improvement to support reliable production and uptime across our plant.

The role requires a two-year certificate in machining or electronics, and the ability to read and follow instructions, perform basic math, and adhere to

Qualifications

  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school focusing on machining and/or electronics.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to follow safety policies including lockout/tagout.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
  • Repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Use monitoring and testing equipment to facilitate troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Continuously improve skills to support existing and new equipment.
  • Work safely following lockout/tagout and electrical policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: DeForest, WI

Shift: 7pm-7am (2-2-3 Schedule)

Pay: $34.18 or above based on Experience + Shift Premium

Summary

Use experience and skills to troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Use monitoring and testing equipment to facilitate troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting and maintaining of manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge to expand capabilities in troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting and maintaining existing and new equipment and technology.
  • Work safely, following lockout/tagout and electrical safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Two-year certificate from college or technical school focusing on machining and/or electronics; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. This position may require manual lifting not to exceed 50 lbs – reference your department-specific JHA (job hazard analysis) for departmental lifting restrictions.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
