Job summary

LOCATION: Cedar City, UT

SHIFT: 12 hr Nights, 7p-7a

SUMMARY: Use experience and skills to troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Use monitoring and testing equipment to facilitate in troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining of manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
  • Continue to expand abilities, skills and knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain existing as well as new equipment and technology.
  • Work safely, follow Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) and electrical safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two-year certificate from college or technical school with a focus in machining and/or electronics; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Frequently stands; walks; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; and talks or hears. Occasionally sits, climbs or balances, and tastes or smells. Manual lifting not to exceed 50 lbs. Refer to department-specific JHA.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
