Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Dayton, TX. The role covers electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment with an on-site day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour plus on-call weekend rotation every third weekend.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, lubrication systems, and operating cranes, forklifts, and testing equipment. High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • 3+ years maintaining plant equipment in industrial settings.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical repairs on industrial machinery.
  • Overhead cranes and forklifts experience preferred.
  • Stable work history and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on facility buildings and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machinery and plant equipment.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance programs and equipment upkeep.
  • Carry tools and equipment to and from work areas.
  • Dismantle, move, and reassemble machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Clean machinery and prepare surfaces for repairs.
  • Monitor, maintain, and replenish lubrication systems on plant equipment.
  • Perform general facility and grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Operate oil vacuum systems to remove used lubricants.
  • Operate overhead cranes during maintenance and repair projects.
  • Fabricate equipment using blueprints, schematics, and measuring instruments.
  • Utilize grinders, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and welding equipment.
  • Operate forklifts and manlifts for maintenance activities.
  • Use electrical testing equipment including voltage detectors, megger, LCR meters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Complete maintenance paperwork and work orders accurately.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related technical environment is preferred.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance programs and responding to equipment breakdowns is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or fabrication is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Maintenance Technician.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of industrial environments throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift equipment, tools, and replacement parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely work around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, perform repairs, and inspect equipment.
