Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic in Houston, TX to keep manufacturing equipment running and production lines moving. This hands-on role requires reading schematics, troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLCs, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance with CMMS support.

You will weld, fabricate parts, operate lathes and grinders, and implement TPM programs while adhering to safety and ISO standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and power transmission troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with programmable logic controls (PLCs).
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Ability to operate machine tools, including lathes and grinders.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly to production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to complete repairs and installations.
  • Install, align, move, dismantle, and maintain production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, power transmission, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Inspect machinery to identify equipment malfunctions and implement repairs.
  • Fabricate replacement parts using machine tools such as lathes and grinders.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and equipment adjustments.
  • Develop and maintain a TPM program, including ISO documentation and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance techniques and CMMS to improve equipment reliability.
  • Create and manage spare parts inventories for production equipment.
  • Identify and implement projects to improve machine performance and production efficiency.
  • Provide basic equipment operation and maintenance training to production employees.
  • Respond promptly to equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
