Job summary

Amcor is seeking a maintenance technician to support production by maintaining and repairing plant machinery. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, mechanical, and PLC systems, and read prints to diagnose issues.

You will document activity, uphold a zero‑accident standard, and collaborate with the team to maximize uptime while pursuing skill progression toward Level II and beyond. This role may require varying shifts.

Qualifications

  • Vocational education or equivalent in two or more of the following areas: Electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding, Mechanical, PLC and Controls Programming.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem‑solving and safety mindset; excellent attendance.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as production needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within demonstrated skill areas (electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanical, or PLC and controls programming).
  • Diagnose root causes of equipment malfunctions and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints, diagrams, and manuals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities performed.
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures; maintain a zero-recordable-accident standard.
  • Maintain consistent, reliable attendance in support of production schedules.
  • Collaborate with maintenance team members, group leaders, and supervisors to support production uptime.
  • Continuously build technical skills and pursue progression toward Level II and beyond.

Provides general labor support in the production of plastic film by assisting with machine operation, material handling, quality checks, and packaging. Ensures production runs efficiently by supporting the operator and maintaining proper workflow, organization, and safety standards.

Essential Job Functions

Education and Experience

Vocational education or equivalent demonstrated skills in two (2) of the following areas: Electrical Hydraulics Pneumatics Welding Mechanical PLC and Controls Programming.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work with little supervision and troubleshoot within demonstrated skill areas. Strong problem-solving and mechanical/electrical aptitude. Good attendance record (2% or less absenteeism) required for progression. Safety-first mindset with a zero-recordable-accident standard required for progression. Willingness to demonstrate continued and sustained improvement in established skill areas.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, bend, stand, and work in various plant environments as required by maintenance tasks. Ability to work required shifts, including potential nights, weekends, and overtime as production needs dictate.
