Are you the kind of person who notices when a hinge squeaks or a light flicker — and has to fix it? Do you take pride in solving problems, working with your hands, and being the go-to person for keeping things running smoothly?

Join our team at the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park! We’re seeking a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Technician to support both people and animals by ensuring a safe, functional, and fun environment.

What You’ll Do:

1. Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs
2. Inspect equipment, address safety concerns, and document all work
3. Work on projects involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and more
4. Collaborate with animal care and guest services teams
5. Respond to urgent issues to minimize disruptions
6. Support sustainability efforts and safety protocols

What You Bring:

1. Experience in general maintenance or trades (painting, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
2. Ability to safely use tools and troubleshoot mechanical systems
3. Great communication and time management skills
4. Willingness to learn and work both independently and in a team
5. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, in tight spaces, around wet environments, etc.
